Simply smile to anyone, a friendly look instead of giving them a nasty look. Maybe, his/her day gets better by your smile and It doesn’t cost anything. A good deed simply can be a big SMILE, a positive sign…..and if we all smile, the world will be a better place.

I meet a one legged man in our local gas station who was hot, sweaty, and tired. After talking to him I found out he had walked there from a town 20 miles away and was trying to buy a bus ticket home. He was 28 dollars short and was about to start walking some more. I bought the ticket from the clerk and went out to give it to him. He begain to cry and thank me so much I started to cry as well. He got to go home.

The stories here are universal. I’ve not only submitted a deed, but also shared this site with people in other counties, states, and countries. Humankind has created too many borders to effect exclusion; thanks to all here for helping the world move beyond them! May your ripples become waves!

One day I was in the drive-up lane at a fast food restaurant and when I reached the window, I was told the car in front of me paid for my order. Knowing how much this random act brightened my day, I began to do it (particularly if the vehicle behind me looks like it is driven by someone having a tough day, on fixed income, or a college student. Instantly makes us both feel better!

I found that this is a good way to put a huge smile on a busy persons face.
When there is a red light and the traffic is backed up soooo much and you see somebody is trying to make a right turn…STOP! and let them turn in. It makes you feel good, it helps them out…becuase 5 oclock traffic sometimes it takes forever to get onto the road from certain stores, and it just speeds things along. Plus other people see you doing it, and probably havnt even thought about doing it…so then they start doing it also.

Late this evening we heard our elderly neighbor’s security alarm go off. We called to check on them. Thankfully everything was alright. They could not figure out how to reset their alarm. We were able to coach them over the phone and got their system back on.

I have psoriasis. It’s a non-terminal, noncommunicable inflammatory disorder of the immune system. For a lot of people, it results in large patches of scaly, painful skin and for some psoriatic arthritis.
Psoriasis is a largely unknown, misunderstood disorder and many new sufferers turn to the Facebook page of the National Psoriasis Foundation with questions when they are first diagnosed. I help by posting encouraging advice about various treatments and relate, as best I can, to their struggles.

Heartspring is a school in East Wichita that specializes in educating people with developmental disabilities. It was a pleasure to help them kick off their Lights on the Lake fundraiser by playing piano at their party, pro bono.
They invited me back for next year’s event and I’m really looking forward to it!

I volunteered to sew costumes for Old Cowtown Museum. They had all the supplies and just needed someone with sewing skills.

Went by the tailors to pick up a pair of pants. There was a lady with an overflowing basket full of clothes to be taken in. She was already working with the seamstress but she asked that the seamstress please help me before continuing with the rest of her basket Thank you!

My Mom asked that I not buy her anything this year for Mother’s Day but to instead do a deed in her honor. So Saturday I spent the afternoon my “little” making Mother’s Day cards and framing pictures in matching frames. It was so much fun – stamping, coloring, putting on stickers, picking out the perfect pictures and just enjoying the company of a five-year old. Thanks Mom – I think you actually did the deed for me!

I bought some little bags of cookies and bottled water for the guy who holds the “OIL CHANGE” sign outside a Jiffy Lube near my house. He’s out there rain or shine. Every time I see him I think, “What a crappy job” and I finally had a chance last Saturday to take him a little treat.

I had a friend going through chemo and was told at what point her hair should fall out. It was recommended at that time to get a 2 inch buzz cut so that it would not be so painful to see your hair come out. I went with her to the beauty shop and held her hand and prayed with her while the beautician was shaving her head. It was nice to have a friend nearby when one sees the results for the first time.

Help out a pregnant friend, or stranger. Lift something heavy for them. Make them comfortable. She and her baby will thank you!

Yesterday, while getting my weekly groceries, I ran across and eldery gentleman trying to open the plastic bag in the produce department. He was working so hard on the wrong end. I stepped up beside him and said, I have a
lot of trouble with those bags too, and turned the bag around and opened it for him. All the time I was proudly wearing my Do The Deed Button on my coat. Deeds can show up at any time, so take the time to Do The Deed. It all makes a difference!

A payphone I used today put my call through without quarters. Instead of leaving this problem for someone else to worry about, I decided to take a minute and call the repair number posted on the phone. If I owned the payphone, I would have been glad be notified about this.
