Volunteer to read to the elderly in an assisted living situation or read to young children. You could take this a step farther and offer to write for someone. Many times, people don’t write cards and letters because of an illness or inability to do so for other reasons. This could be your opportunity to learn something personal about someone you would not have known otherwise.
